If you're tank is cycled, and you keep an eye on water params. making sure they stay in the correct levels, the clowns will be fine.

Can I get your opinion on salt? I can't seem to get a straight answer on whether a little salt is okay or not.
Salt is not necessary for a successful clown loach environment. As far as I've read, they're sensitive to long-term exposure to salt.
Salt can be used to treat clown loaches for ick, but beyond that is not advised.
