clown loach troubles

"Skinny" clown loaches should never be purchased--they invariably die.
Healthy clown loaches are robust, active, and do not "flash"--that is, rub themselves on rocks or ornaments trying to remove parasites.
I would not add anything to your tank until you are sure there is no disease present.
Solitary clown loaches in a tank will survive, it's just that their behavior is very much enhanced by company of their own kind.
And they will get large and need a big tank. Unfortunately, getting them to settle in and start growing up is the first (and major) hurdle with these fish in the home aquarium.

i got the zebras he acting just like he was with all the other clowns when i got him he was the best lookin guy in the tank with his cool pattern of stripes and a half moon look and his eye wasnt on the stripe

:laugh: the zebras are all thinkin he is the leader and at night he amkes a clickin noise sometimes if you listen

When you keep loaches, make sure you are in it for the long pull.
I have had my zebra loaches for over 12 years now.
They sure are nice, interesting fish to keep.
