I have housed 4 small 1 inch clown loaches in a heavily planted red cherry shrimp tank to control an outbreak of pond snails. The shrimp population did not seem phased. The colony of 100+ has kept going strong for 2 years. I have sold twenty of mixed sizes every week from a twenty high for over a year. The loaches will be going into a 75 with 5 others in the future.
Recently housed some killie in the tank and thought they took a quick toll. Relocated them from the tank and found the shrimp population back to 100+ within a month.
Other fish that I seem to keep successfully with cherry shrimp are zebra (striata) loaches, queen (dario) loaches, yoyo loachs, chain loach and many varieties of cories.
I keep testing the waters. Cherry shrimp are in most of my planted tanks. The only tanks that I know cannot safely house them have angles.
