I recently purchased two clown loaches that have come down with ich, and it's on a small irridescent shark as well... Greatful that they're already in QT tank completely my fault, which makes it even worse...I accidentally unplugged the heater on my QT tank, and the tem dropped from 80 to 72 in about 1.5 hours! so, no surprise to see the ich this morning.

I've read lots about ich+clown loaches on this forum, and am planning to try and cure it with salt and raising the temp to 85, but have a few more questions...

How tolerant of salt (and temp change for that matter) is the iri. shark?
also, I have some ridich+ as well. would it be OK to use that together with the salt, or would that bee too much?

At what rate should I increase the salt? they're in a 10G that currently has no salt in it. And, should I keep some salt in my established tank as well?

Thanks in advance for any information.

ok i keep several scaleless fish including clowns heres my suggestion
get some Jungle Ich gaurd 2 for scaleless fish this WILL work
follow the directions - it might take a week though - continue medicating for a week after you see the last ich crystal falls off the fish - keep temp up to 83-85 or so -

hey at least by the temp dropping you were able to expose the ich on the fish before mvoing them into other tanks - !

not sure i've never used salt - you really won't need it in IMO once you begin treatment with the jungle meds - however they have a customer service num on the bottle - give them a call they'll be able to let you know
