hey is there anyway to get this little guy to come out in the open :wall: i see his head sticking out the boat but he wont come out in the open suck on the glass or the big piece yummy wood in the middle of the tank

I have heard of catfish tanks being lit with a red light. Apparently it can make nocturnal species more comfortable but visible at the same time.

darkness and a redlight works very well its what i use on all my tanks. give it some cucumber or similar veggies to eat, and be patient.

It sounds like he's pretty young and shy. Give him some time. Have you had him very long? Sometimes it takes a while for them to get up their nerve.

Well, that's what some plecos do ! I have 4 breeding tanks of plecos, and all I ever see of them is their tails, sticking out of a cave, waving and laughing at me !! Sometimes when I go down with a flashlight after lights out I may catch a glimpse of 1 or 2, but not for long !! Most plecos for the most part are pretty boring fish during the day time. Thank goodness I have a community tank to look at, or I would probably shoot myself !! Good luck.

Yeah I have 2 clown pleco's myself and they are very shy...only the male every comes out of the rock work...however that may be due to the fact that he is blind and just gets lost I dont know. (they came with a tank I bought...not sure what happened to his eyes, but he seems very happy) They sometimes can be caught out in the open sucking on fresh veggies...

Especially if he's new/newish, give him time to get used to the place. He'll pop out more. I have 2 pitbull plecoes, they'll disappear into the plants on me for days.
