Can you tell a clown roach by his big shoes or the red nose? Hopefully you are asking about clown loaches, and they can grow quite large over a period of 4-5 years. Believe they can get to 8+ inches, fortunately the roaches around here top out at about 3-4". Good luck.

If you are trying to maximize the size of a clown loach, I would not buy any more. In a 284 liter (approx. 75 gallon) tank, keeping 5 is pushing it. They need very clean water and lots of live/frozen foods to get them to grow larger somewhat quickly. The tank should be longer than it is tall generally so they can swim back and forth at a longer distance. If they're not kept at optimal conditions, most will be stunted and will only grow to about 4-5" max. I have raised some to be around 6". The largest I have seen was around 9".
