I've noticed my two clownfish have been following each other around and what looks to be making a "nest" in the sand by the glass. I read about them twitching some bit and I've seen them swim up and twitch. I have no anemones for them to lay their eggs in.

I've only had the clownfish about 3 weeks, is it enough time for them to adapt? When I first got them, they were really non-colorful and light orange. Now they're very colorful, dark orange and their white stripes really glow. I feed them once a day a nice meal of shrimp.

Another thing...if they lay the eggs in the sand are the crabs and shrimp going to eat them before I can get to them?

clown fish are weird, i mean they're called clowns, they just swimm like that some times. normally they lay eggs on a flat shell at the base of the anemone.

Clownfish will lay their eggs on a flat surface. One way to encourage them is to put a tile or half a flowerpot in the tank.

The ones we had at work laid their eggs in the corner of the tank on the glass.
