co2? affordable

hello.i have a 10 gal planted endler tank and i was wondering if i could set up a CO2 system to get my stupid plants to grow faster. i curently have one incandecant and one flourecseant bulb (gonna hav 2 fl bulbs soon. man 10 gal hoods suck) every week im adding ferts to my tank and all its doing is making the algae go hog wild and the java moss is growing at a snails pace. so can i add CO2 to my tank to make the plants grow faster or will it just be a waste. and also can i afford it? if its really expensive im willing to buy a used CO2 system as long as it works. i have absolutly no iddea how it works either so you may have to explain this stuff to me.

for a simple tank like yours i would look into diy co2. If you want to get even more simpler then look into the red sea co2 system or hagen natural plant system. Both go for about $25-30

might want to look into excel. not as good as gas but still works.

well if it was me i would start out with DIY then if you really want to see the plants take off go for pressurized.You never did state how much WPG you have either.

I go to a gas shop (welding gas) for CO2. Alot cheaper than aquarium shops. (I used to weld and own my own bottles).

um i dont really have any powerful hoods. i just have the incandecant hood (the one that comes with the tank) and outfitted it with flourecant bulbs.

or, just quit feeding the algae with ferts, and be patient.

blow up trash bags and pump that into your tank.

What's the wattage of the bulbs?

As j double r said, could just stop putting ferts in and reduce the light, no co2 needed then.
