CO2 backwash?

I lightly shook my DIY co2 pump to stir the mix and it blew some cloudy backwash liquid into my tank. Is this dangerous to my fish? My pumps been running for about 5 days on it's current mix, and I've been running it for over 2 months w/o this ever happening.

A little should be ok. It's mainly sugar, yeast and alcohol. Depending on how much went in and how big your tank is (i.e. the dilution factor) you may or may not need to do some water changes to remedy the situation.

Water changes are a good idea, but if it was just a little bit (like a mL or so) then there's probably little benefit, outside the normal benefits of water changes, of course.

Yup

It was definitely more than t mL, maybe about 2 Teaspoons worth. I did do about a 30% water change and the filter cleared alot of it up. Fish never seemed to notice.

I suspect that you're fine. There's really nothing in there that will do them any harm in the quantities you're talking about. If you'd gotten a lot in there, you may have had a bit of work cut out for ya...

I had a ton siphon into my ten gallon, it took alot of water changes and filter rinses to clear it up. Through all this my fish survived. On my fifty five I use a gas/solids seperator. A twenty ounce pop bottle between the generator and the tank. It will prevent this from happening. I can find a diagram if you need one.
