:help2:Just planted tank and I`m now thinking of adding CO2 but it must be on a budget though.
Can anyone recommend either a DIY option or pressurised option for 50gal tank.
Cheers!!

Save up and go pressurized. It is a pricey starting out but the peace of mind that the CO2 will flow when you want it too is comforting. No mixing yeast/sugar mixtures every week is a big plus to pressurized CO2. Before you go with CO2 you need to have enough light on your tank. This is the place to get info on planted tanks setups. Have fun.

I was looking at some of the trow away cannaster type co2 systems that our LFS have in stock but again not too sure what I1m looking at or for.Would prefer to go the pressurized way though!!

For a 50 gallon tank:
10# CO2 cylinder
Regulator w/ bubble counter (Milwaukee is good)
CO2 tubing (regular airline tubing will leak and get brittle over time)
CO2 reactor/diffuser
Optional:
CO2 controller (Milwaukee)
Air pump (to run at night)
Use a canister filter for best results
Hope this helped. Most of these items can be purchased on ebay for a good price.

you will probably regret it and the money you spend could add to your total on a real system.
