co2 generator

good ideas. I found this site talking about the max pressure for drain waste vents product specs

Not sure if that helps at all, but what does your pressure gauge usually read? or i should say whats the max its ever read?

Also is there such a thing as a valve that will release pressure if it exerts so much psi? so you could just put it in the system and if for some reason the pressure would get too high it would gentely release it until it reaches a safe point.

Man i wished i payed more attention in physics, im sure all those nifty formulas for pressure and volume might have come in handy to find out how safe different supplies would be.

I havent tried to pressureize it yet. It just purrs along at about the same rate as I use. They make that kind of valve > often on air compressor tanks
It 300 psi 20 times the volume would be in it.

As ZKT stated they make pop off valves for air compressors... Some are adjustable some are fixed. Probably a good idea to put one in just in case...

Thot I would update youall in the results of the co2.
After looking at various ways to diffuse the co2 in the water, finally placed an airstone in the filter box at the powerheads intake. It shoots out a stream of barely visible bubbles half way down the tank. Theres so much that the plants are covered with little bubbles and growing like weeds. Even a piece of grass root, that I thot was dead has sprouted green shoots. The free floating algae has cleared up. Starved it out !. Didnt have much string algea, so Im not sure what the effect is on it. Seems about the same amount. Anyone who has plants should have co2 ! Growing plants are so much more interesting than ones that just sit there half dead.
Seems I went a little overboard on the generator. Coiuld do away with the drier and regulator. The best thing about it is the screw off cap. In the am I add a little sugar disolved in warm water and it goes all day. Shuts off automatically at about the time the lights go off. Ill rebuild it and post the pics in a day or two.
