CO2 Levels and a Broken Filter

So my filter is out of commission for a few days until I get the a new motor head cover (nozzle on Eheim broke off). I'm worried that the CO2 levels in my tank are higher than usual because of this (pressurized CO2 system). I think I'm seeing gasping in the fish that I never see (I think that's what it is...very quick breath, never seen it before). Could this be because of the broken filter? Or should I be looking at other causes?

Well it's off for the night. I diffuse the CO2 in the tank via a powerhead, so I angled the outflow of that towards the surface to try and get some more air exchange. I also did a 50% water change. Hopefully that'll help

Unfortunately I don't have an airstone to toss in there.

The piece should be here in a day or two, maybe I'll just keep the CO2 off until then.

It's probably a combination a few things. I just did a large rescape, and I'm guessing a lot of the plants haven't adjusted yet (so they're not using as much nutrients / CO2 as they could be). The fish looks alright now, so I at least caught it in time.
