Me and a guy at work are messing with fixing my leaks ans im curious what the #'s are?

sitting still or if i would shake it?

I ask about shaking b/c it was kinda the way id test to see if the "junk" i was trying to seal it with was holding. I t would bubble and pop then hiss everywhere.

Thanks in advance.

so only 1 or 2 psi with DIY? is there a eqiv in pounds?

a few ppl i know used the glass diffuser with the diy setup and it worked. Though there are some i hear about who are complaining that there isnt enough pressure to pass that ceramic plate.
Stick with limewood. Cheap and effective. Or you can make them yourself, just get some soft wood, cut it to size, drill a hole 3/4 of the way and stick that tubing adapter (forgot exact name) My lfs sales non brand (premade) for $.99 much better than the coralife 2 for $5

btw if the co2 mix been done for a few hours+ then you can just squeeze the bottle (lightly) and see if anything bubbles out, or if a seal is bad.
Edit: another way for you to test if the seals are just right is connecting the tubing to your airpump.

i gottcha on how to test for a leak, shake, pressurize, airpump, soap water, submerge.

My silicone got ripped by me or wasnt yeast/alcohol resistent? but it leaked and i tried some other tubed crap and it leaked really easy so i wondered what im working with. My mechanic at work ( I work at John Deere Dealership/ Agricultrual equipment supplier. and i run the parts and service part.) He has a rubber grommet for a snowblower gas tank that had a metal L that went thru it. one end in the grommet in the cap, then the other top part is a 90 with the hose on it. He asked what the #'s were b/c its only to hold a few gallons of gas and the tank works on small vaccum from the carb.

I hooked it up on lunch, after a shake for leak test it didnt leak, visually and i lisitened best i could? The rush of co2 didnt stop shortly after the shake/ or didnt happen like b4. But ive had a leak for about 4 days and the caps been off for like 1-2. so is my mix dead? I noticed it didnt bubble out again in a few mins after the rush? it slowly stopped and didnt fire up in the 5-10 mins i watched? I'll check when i head home in 3hrs i hope its goin. If it works I'll get another fitting from my mech and i'll be set.

on another note whilst im repairing all my hodge podge DIY co2 stuff. If i hooked directly the output line to the HOB intake wouldnt it draw in the mix? suck the bottle?

Right not its limewood under the foam filter cover and they stay under it pretty well. only a few (2) "build" up under it and roll out the side up to the top every couple of secs.

I thankyou for your help.

Mix should still be OK, but they do take quite a while to build up pressure after sealing.

A HOB filter won't "suck" the CO2 in - is a better strategy (IMO) to put your limewood diffuser under the HOB's output so that the waterfall effect keeps the bubbles trapped for a while. Also - HOBs generally provide enough surface agitation to drive off dissolved CO2 pretty quickly, so you should make sure that the water enters as smoothly (silently) as possible (keep water level up).

I thought prolonging the time to surface was the best? and wouldnt the best way be into the hob and past the impeller? I dont see how it wouldnt suck in the bottle and then the mixture?

And my water is all the way up my HOB. it swirls right up front on the 5g and the 10g is so still its nasty on the surface????? so i might lower it abit.
