co2 pressure?

So long as you can't hear it returning the water, you're probably doing all you can... and yes, you might want to let the 10 drop a little.

As to the impellor in a HOB - it may chop up bubbles, but you'll lose lots of them as they go through the media. Better to start low & hold 'em low w/ the output of hte filter.
 
gottcha, ill stick with the foam filter cover "eatin" the bubbles it looks really slow. and sometimes they cling to it and just sit there.
 
K, im thinking my wood stones might be wearing out? after 2 weeks?
I fixed my leaks and they arnt pumping out as much after a 2-3 hr wait?
I think thats why my seals broke b4?
There was too much back pressure only with 1-2 psi?
I put a regular airstone on the 10g and i think the output is better by a lil bit.
I also after the first say 4-5 hrs maybe of the 10g's co2 working with the wooden stone still- had a milky water stringy white things on the glass like ghost carpethair algae? on the gravel too?
I cleaned the foam filter intake, dropped the water like i was going too do. cleaned the glass. It looked a bit better, I added a cheap water decdhlor and conditioner.
This morn I gravel vacd and did a 30% WC and used prime. What was that stuff?

Im sorry to have all these 1rst timer silly questions.
 
AHHH thankyou BK828. I have a snowblower fuel tank bulkhead with rubber grommet and 90 up top. And a bolt head in the bottom of the car and a nut in top tighten to the max. drilled thru and the line threaded onto the bolt then zip tied. both work well.
 
I did have the hole drilled and a airline going in (any know if it matters how much airline below the cap? is it better flush?) and then I siliconed it. For the first bottles- 2 weeks about it was fine. then it statred to get wet, bubble, and hiss. So I needed a more permanent solution.

I just want the most effective and best way to do it. I.E. best mix, wood stone or plastic, directly to the intake, bottle placement? above below?.

I think I had better results the first 2 weeks with the bottles below the tanks I dunno maybe over excited. I did/do have some really good plant growth. I think it slowed? maybe the leaks. I can only tell I think in the days to come see if it "catched up" to usual. But I have like 1 inch plus anacharis leaves and really nice flowers on em.

i usually leave an 1-1.5" past the cap. Before i didnt have any aquarium safe silicone so i went ghetto and used a piece of gum to seal it :silly:. It worked no bubbling lol. The key is when you make the hole in the cap is to make it smaller than the diameter of the tubing, then cut the tubing tip on an angle, that will allow you to put it through the cap with ease. If the hole is smaller than the tubing then right there you have a good seal (mine lasted like that for 2 months without problems) Though since i got aquarium safe silicone i decided to switch, I put a generous amount of it around the tubing by the cap and used a pen to smooth it out. To be safe you can try and seal it on top of the cap and inside. I then have the tube going from the cap to either a 2 way converter or a check valve and from there to another tube which leads to the wooden airstone. I had my wooden airstone under the overflow of the filter that way the current keeps the bubbles under for long, that worked pretty good, and recently i tried placing the stone under the intake of the filter and its doing fine like that 2. (though i like it more under the overflow)..

The position of the bottles doesnt really matter since the gas will still get into the tank, though it is suggested that the bottles are kept in a safe, WARM place. Hence i keep mine right by the tank where the tanks temp can keep the bottle warm 2. The only thing the location of the bottles will effect is if you need a checkvalve or not. If the bottle is leveled with the tank then one is not really needed.

The co2 running slower after 2 weeks can depend on your mixture (2 much yeast, not enough sugar/water)
For my 2L i have been filling it up with warm water right where the top curve of the bottle begins, then pouring 1.5-2cups of sugar, mixing it really really good. Then pour some of that water into a cup and add 1/4-1/2 teaspoon of yeast. mix it and let it sit for 15-20min. After the time is up pour it back into the bottle and add 1/2-1 teaspoon of baking powder. mix again and close with a regular cap and leave it overnight. The next morning connect the bottle to your premade cap, wait a few minutes and BAM. Every week i would give the bottle a slight twirl. Get a drop checker that way you know if you actually have enough co2 in your tank and wont go by "ohh i dont see that many bubbles, that means theres no co2 in the tank"

Or you can try jello co2 :P
