co2 pressure?

yea, grabbing stems and fallen leaves, replanting, squirting some ferts, hitting the lights, WC, and thats about it. Doesnt add up to the time it takes each time to take all the plants and all the water out and the whisper 10 all apart and clean it. It comes back in like 2 days its to the point where visibilty is hindred pretty good. I have my prized senegals in there as well ugh.

I dont know what to do. I can sterilize again and try the powerhead option. Or leave it and see how bad it gets or if it dies off. Im pretty sure I see clean tracks from the snails? Or Is there a product to buy.

hmm what kind of yeast are you using again? how much yeast/sugar? how far up do you fill the bottle?
At times it can just be the stone.. I went through 3 wooden stones already and with all i had small amount of the filmy fungus but with one there was like twice as much (but not like how you describe it of being on plants/gravel)..

Since you said you have co2 running on another tank start doing trials..
After you clean the "dirty" tank do this
1- take the co2 mix from the other tank and hook it up on this one and let it run for 5-7 days see if you notice anything.
2- if that dont help try switching wooden stones.

Thanks bk828. I had two thread going about this. one started for it. and then this one where it turned to it.

But I tried a plastic airstone and it too grew the film on it and around glass by it. then I didnt give it a chance to get worse. I added a submersible like turtle tank filter. powerhead on one end and the filter housing part attaches to the head. and I put the naked line directly onto the side of it. It doesnt "suck" any of the mix up at all. It works really well. Really fine bubbles come out.

It hasnt came back at all. and my plants really took off. I have to trim after a week now.

Thanks for the help.

yup already there. I talked to my LFS about credit for some bunches. But a trim here and there isnt that much to take in and get a decent amount that they can still sell them and make money. Im waiting now for the jungle to get worse and clip at once and see what I have. I have couple buddies that can use the clippings but that only works a few times.

It would be neat to see the "plant" farms they grow the plants we buy in.

Yeah, giving away free stuff here on the boards is one thing, but if you are selling for cash or credit, you sometimes have to sacrifice the aquascape, meaning sometimes your trim is much more than that in order to put together something worth any money.

But the good news is, it grows back.

yea you worded it better lol. I have to really trim or really let it get outta control to trim enought to band and take in.

yea its nice to cut some back and gain a few more. my tanks are full. So if i trade it will be to replace a plant in a section that im tired of looking at.

Right now im letting it go jungle for the first time and see what comes outta the trimming and if I can get anything trade in wise from them.

BK828 whilst I have you here, my petco just got blovian rams like the ones that used to be in your avatar- I read all the specs and online jazz. But for 7.99 at a inch or two. whats your opinion on em? I wanna breed some fish that raise there own young, discus, convict, rams ect. but the convicts get nasty and I dont have the space to let em pair, Id have to get pairs for sure pairs, and with the rams there cheaper and less aggressive at mating it looks like and maybe easier to sex?

What tank you plan to add them?? I noticed that even though a 10g would be fine for a pair, i think they would rather prefer 20long + for swim space.. $7.99 each is somewhat decent, though thats what they go for here $6-10 (depending on size) Visit a few other locals and see if they carry some, also can find out when their next stock will be in and if any of the rams are on the list..

Picking out a pair is somewhat difficult since they are hard to sex. But when you are at the store you can do your best to pick out the healthiest looking and one thats not a bully, also try and pick out ones that are just about the same size so no bullying will occur later. As far as sexing, most stores seem to carry mostly males so finding a female is a gift, pay attention to the fish size, if they are all about the same size the female most of the time will be the smaller one with less color (thats if they came from the same batch). Also pay attention to the dorsal fin, males is elongated at the end and females is somewhat round/oval.

I recently got my male a female but she is somewhat smaller and is scared of him (since he chases her a bit). Due to the slight chasing i put her in a different tank so she can get bigger and fatter.. plus she is turning out to be somewhat pain in the ____, because she does not want to eat flakes, crisps, tetra bites.. Only thing i managed to get her to eat is frozen bloodworms.. and even that she only eats ones that are just about to hit the floor, once its on the substrate she somewhat ignores it.. Will probably need to make a post to see if anyone knows a good way to get her to eat everything i throw in there..

Well good luck with yours, take your time looking for and buying them..
