Sorry, ignorant question. Do you fill up the bubble counter with a fluid to count the bubbles? If so, is it designed not drain out through the bottom?

Sorry, ignorant question. Do you fill up the bubble counter with a fluid to count the bubbles? If so, is it designed not drain out through the bottom?

With this particular bubble counter I had to install the check valve before the counter and then fill it with fluid... the check valve prevented water from back siphoning....
