CO2 System

i probably is just cutting it for filtration (never used it so no personal experience there) i would ad on another filter to be honest look at the sunsun filter on ebay alot of people are buying them and vouching for them. if this is your first planted tank would suggest start small and do a low light tank not a do high light it can be a mess if you don't truly know what your getting into.

Really? But my filter has kept my water pretty clean so far. Or would I just need another filter if I make a planted aquarium?
Would I be better off buying a cheap 10g tank learning how to do this with a smaller tank?

personally i think bigger is always better makes a tank more stable with with more water volume. so i would just stay with a low light tank say 100-120 watts over the tank with the ability to add more later. but ya most people belie in more filtration for a planted tank am a lot more water movement (you might able to get away with adding just a power head.

The only thing I am worried about with low light is that my tank is 23 inches high. Will I need more light to keep plants at the bottom of my tank lighted?

Right now I only have a little more than 1WPG but I am working on a custom hood for my tank that will have much more lighting built into it. I am hoping to have at least 3WPG (hoping for around 4WPG) but it all depends on how much room I have on the inside of it once it is done.
ifm:

You willl not need CO2 injection for a nice planted tank at 3wpg.
