Co2 Technical problem..AGAIN. This is torture...Need some help

Zzz Okay, I'm going to have to find a welding shop and get a new low pressure gauge. What about the air tightness of my manifold any more thoughts into it? Or is pipe dope is the real only option there really is?

Thanks for the help guys.

Once you've got the whole thing assembled with gas pumping, use some dish soap and make a mild soapy solution....if you can use a straw and blow bubbles in it, it's good enough....and test your connections with that. If the connections blow bubbles, you have a leak, if not, you're good.

Yep, I have teh bubbles. I applied more pipe dope, and you see the picture from last page? Yeah, it seems that pipe dope didn't work on the NV's 1/8" fitting and the third fold's 1/8" fitting, you can look at the red arrows, those are where the problems start. The think the reason why my glass diffuser is not working to fuse off is because of this problem...When air is trapped, it will create pressure, right? and will it push water out of the way immidieately, but mine just doesn't go! you just have to crank it up super high until pressure is very strong A LOT of bubble per second. You hear like something is about to explode (thats when you crank the NV all the way) So right now, I'm just waiting on pipe dope to settle in....but the pipe dope shouldve done the job to fix the problem even without settling in...

Applying more pipe dope isn't going to resolve the issue. You have to disassemble the connection that is leaking, clean all the old pipe dope off, reapply, reassemble. Do yourself a favor and throw away the pipe dope and get some teflon tape.

It won't push the water out immediately. You have to allow it to build up pressure and the water should slowly creep out.

Why don't you just order a new one from Rex for $13 shipped?

He's very slow on catching up with people.....One man job, must be kinda tough, getting tons of emails everyday, shipping stuff everyday, getting sick from cigarettes, being a mailman, ya know.....Hes a little hard to get a hold of that's all.

Oh, so apply pipe dope over pipe dope is useless? I have a wire brush, want me to just scrape the dope off? But since pipe dope is gooey, should I just clean it off with a kleenix or something? Want me to try teflon tape now, eh? I have it.. Nolapete, thanks for helping me out this far dude. Even theplantedtank.com couldn't keep up with this thread over there lol

Success!

Teflon tape worked. Not to mention I didn't know about the big O-rings for the bubble counter cap, so I used it too. The pressure is very good, actually better than last time, I think I had a leak before. EVERYTHING IS WORKING;including the two bubble counters that were not working.

Thank you, all of you, notably people from AquariaCetral and ThePlantedTank, for giving me so much advice here and there. I am very grateful;without you guys, I don't know if I will ever catch up to y'all. Thanks Nolapete, jmhart, Zigman, spinycheek, BiscuitSlayer, jjp2, Hoppy, Craigthor, and gmcgreedy for all the help.

good job, it isn't easy fixing leaks in anything but you pulled through

Yeah, thanks
