a simple drop checker is the other way.. which is still basially the ph-kh but color coded..

They are accurate.
but remember if the co2 level in the tank goes 2 high and the drop checker reads yellow(high) and stays that way for a while without you trying to reduce it, it decreases the accuracy of that solution and it will have to be replaced.
I have a drop checker, and a red sea Co2 test kit.
could never get the test to show and amountof co2 when the drop checker showed appropriate levels...
