I have a pressurized co2 system, and I leave it on 24/7 by choice to avoid such variables of a failed solenoid, and any fluctuations in flow caused by the on/off cycling of a timed system. If you're concerned about "oxygen deprivation" while the co2 flows at night, just run an airstone via a small pump to keep good oxygenation in the tank.
