I know some people use coconut shells in their aquariums for caves and have likes the idea. I have a couple that are old and were used with mice years ago. I was wondering if I boiled them to sterilize if they would be safe to use in an aquarium.

I think so as long as there weren't any chemicals used in the cage.

I would boil them for a while to kill any germs.
