Coffee Table Aquarium

wouldnt want it planted anyways seems like a pain to have to remove the top i assume its more then just setting on top.

Nope, it is actually just sitting on top. It is held in place though, so it cannot slide around in any direction. Other then that, it lifts right up.

Very sweet tank!!

Curious as to how it was built and how the systems work, can't wait for the tutorial

Thanks, i'll have the tutorial up this weekend sometime im thinking!

your a handy guy for sure! wish you were my neighbor lol

Thank you... not really all that handy, just willing to give things a shot.

awesome! I have seen plenty of tanks that looked good without being planted so I wouldn't deduct any points for that, it looks great! I also agree that a school of tetras would look amazing but that will make a goldfish very happy i'm sure :) Great job!

Thanks...

Im thinking i may add something else to the tank. Currently, tank sits at room temp. I may have a small 50watt heater depending on how things go. On the other hand, i dont want this tank to be too much work. So adding more fish would add to work load/maintenance.

I like it...just don't want to maintain it..lol.....

Given the viewing angle, you might consider tosakin goldfish which are intended to be seen from above.

There is next to no maintaining needed, other then cleaning the prefilter, and water changes. Top comes completely off to do so. Very simply, as i didnt want it to be a complicated piece.

Good idea. I wont be seeing any of those around here any time soon though...

Raingarden would be the best source I know. I've purchased from them before and highly recommend them. Looks like they don't have tosakins available though at the moment.
