Coldwater fish

Hi everyone

I want to set up a 10 gallon cold water tank, with a trailer trash theme, it will be filtered and possibly planted, does anyone know what cold fish will work in a 10 gallon, and if there are any plants that will thrive in an unheated tank?

10 gallons will be fine for a small crew of white cloud minnows. Prett cheap, if they are alone then a group of 7 should be great.

Java fern and java moss both do fine in cooler waters.

I just suggest making the tank at least stable in temp, even if it is cold.

Weather loaches, hillstream loaches, some corydoras species and some tetras and barbs will all do well in an unheated tank. If they were the only fish inthere, you could probably go for 12 or so white clouds.

I agree. If it is well filtered you could actually do up to like 15 in there. White clouds are pretty small fish. You could also try danios. Rosey reds would do well too. BTW I have always wanted to do a themed tank like that.

weather loaches get too big for 10 gal (8" max). hillstream loaches may be a better suggestion, and they're so unique looking!

white clouds are fun, easy to take care of fish. I had 7 at one point, and they survived anything. the red fins and lips (natural) are very endearing
