Color enhancing goldfish foods?

Are there any "color enhancing" goldfish foods that are worth pursuing? I don't want to put nutrition second to appearance, and do not want to stray from using pellets. Currently I am feeding with Omega-One's small pellets; the container says it brings out natural colors, and the guys seem to love it, but I was just hoping for others' input.

Thanks in advance,
Bryant

I feed mine BIO-Blend for goldfish. It says Daily Maximum Nutrition Rite-sized for all Goldfish, and boosts the immune-system with Bio-guard. It's made from Marine-Labs. They go nuts for it. It's also a pellet.

Blind Goldfish

I have a 3yr old 7inch goldfish. The end of his eyes are all whited out. I think he is blind. He can't see the food on top, he smells it, then after searching and missing his food, dives to the bottom, where he feeds most of the time. What would be the best food to feed him. The flakes seems to just land on the bottom and rot.

What kind of substrate do you have?

You could feed him bread.

Since he feeds from the bottom of the tank, why not keep him in a bare-bottom tank (to make cleanup easier) and feed him a sinking pellet? I feed my pond goldies Hikari Lionhead, which is a rapidly sinking pellet, and they love it and are doing well on it.

Your goldfish would probably also enjoy some plant material to munch on now and then, such as fresh or thawed frozen peas or pieces of Anarcharis (Elodea).

Thanks, Dangerdoll!

I appreciate the feedback! I'm also going to try to vary the diet with some vegies when I can (peas etc) as fromwhat I've read it's helpful over all.

Personally, I would enjoy a nonstop diet of NJ diner food :D I lived in Madison for 5 yrs and miss not being able to go out right now and have a huge omelet for a late breakfast.

Thanks again!

Funny I use bread to chum in carp.

Hm, I've often told my dad to keep his carp doughballs and especially the hooks away from my goldfish. He can go down to the river instead LOL It's a sport he's truly gotten into the past 3 years, and has some fairly good sized fish (and stories) to show for it.
