Thank you SO much for all of the information. I will definitely look into your suggestions. You folks give me hope for my tank, which I don't have a lot of right now.

I love my GBR's. They are beautiful and have personality!! Here are pics:
I am also getting a trio of Apisto cacatuoides Triple red, I'll post pics when they are mature. Do a google search on Apistogramma species and you'll see there are many.
Another suggestion would be Australohero oblongum, Chanchito cichlid. They are awesome looking and I think a pair or trio would work great in a 55g tank. Get some other South American dither fish and some cories and there you have it!!
