this is cool but it says it MUST be on the sand

I also saw someone on this forum with SUPER blue mushrooms and they were the only mushrooms I ever saw that I was like wow those are cool. I don't know whose tank they were in though. = /

Just to warn you, non-photosynthetic corals are much tougher to keep in aquarium conditions because they must be fed regularly, and while there has been some great progress recently in planktonic food products, there is still a long way to go. I would strongly advise against species like the carnation coral you linked earlier

What do the non-photosynthetic ones eat? I feed my tank brine and red macro everyday and krill once or twice a week.

Oh really? I put that in my tank daily too for the copepods...

i believe sun polyps are filter feeders and the metallic green is an sps

sun polyps are not filter feeders. they "can" be, but they require direct target feeding of mysis or some other meaty food regularly.

also, the metallic green plate coral is a plate coral, not a small polyp stony coral. the plate coral would be considered a lps, large polyp stony.

as for corals for you, i would recommend toadstool leathers, zoanthids, palythoas, and mushrooms..

after that, the other corals require more light/care...

Sweetness. Whatever has some nice color to it I'm down for it. I don't like how a lot of them are like dull browns, yellows and almost oranges that just kinda blend in with the rock and are blahh...I want my tank to eventually look like a bag of skittles.
