Colour fading fast in neon tetras!

My neons change colour all the time. Well, not so much ALL the time, but, I have a regular light schedule, and if I turn on the light after its been off for sometime, the neons look pale, sometimes they even look MORE bright, glowing maybe, lol. But, when the light turns on in the morning on schedule, they are almost already schooling and have all the colours bright.
So, are you randomly flicking the light on and seeing the result? cause if so, its just like someone turning your bedroom light on at 3am, you aint the most gorgeous creature at that time either, lol:D

lol, I think this is the case. They're brand new in my new tank, so they are still adjusting to my schedule. Next time I'll turn on the house lights for a while before turning on the tank light.

those little timers work great for stuff like aquariums.
they are like......5 or 6 bucks at walmart I think. Plug them into a socket and then plug the lights in to the timer, after a few weeks, they will get used to a regular lighting time and you should have no problems! Good luck!
