I bought 2 Columbian catfish Monday 7/7. They have been acting weird. The larger one swims at the top almost all day, hardly eats. The smaller one does the same thing just not as bad. He'll swim to the bottom, eat a little & joins the larger one at the top. Is this normal? We also have 2 Silver dollar fish & 4 Chichlids, but they don't bother the catfish. Please tell me if this is normal behavior for the catfish.

thanks

These guys get big--up to 12 inches easily--and prefer hard to brackish water. They are in FW as juveniles, but migrate to brackish estuaries as they mature--usually around4 inches in size. People have remarked that at this stage they become very active, constantly pacing the tank, trying to find an outlet that will get them to the estuaries.
