"Community" Cichlids?

30 gallon could house a pair of rams, kribensis, apistogramma, and I hear keyholes can work community-wise.
the catches: 1) they vary in level of aggression, especially kribensis. some will be rather tolerant of tankmates unless they're mating, and others will turn your peaceful community into a nightmare. 2) apistogramma may be a bit pricy depending on the strains- usually mating pairs I've seen have gone for $50 and up... 3) Keyholes probably get too big for a 30 gallon, but I haven't had experience with them personally, so ask around. 4) watch out for your cories, they'll be helpless against cichlid aggression, and they'll share the same strata... keep an eye out for these guys.

[edit: I just checked on keyholes, and they get to about 4 inches. I guess I was thinking of the adult size of Geophagus Brasiliensis for some reason. So keyholes would be good sizewise, can't really testify for their temperment, but I have heard that they make good community fish. ]

Keyholes are EXCELLENT community fish.
They prefer to be in either pairs or groups. The males get to be around 3 or 4 inches and the females are a little bit smaller.

Males have longer anal fins if you were wondering how to tell them apart...
well i wanna know if they will go with the fish in my sig.
because one of my Female Lyretail Mollies(she is dalmation) and she is pregnant. one of my molies alreasy had babies and the male has been "showing his anatomy" quite a bit and my dalmation lyretail keeps getting a bigger belly each day like my already pregnant again lyretail so i am guessing that i am screwed because my dad wants me to get alotta angelfish he had 2 full grown angels in a 10 gallon when he was younger and fed them molly fry each day
so basically what i am asking

Yes there are community cichlids almost all dwarfs are some more than others Latacara Curviceps,dorsiger Dricossus filamintosis Nanacara anamola all of these are real good community cichlids all between 2-4 inchesRudy_627 said:

well i dont plan on breeding them
and if possible can you get me the common names by 1:00 tomorrow? because i am going to help clean tanks at my LFS because i get decor, food, fish, or money for doing that because the people there really like me

Hi Rudy the common names are laetacara curviceps(Flag Cichlid),Nanacara anamola(golden eye dwarf cichlid),Dricossus filamentosis(checkerboard cichlid)There are some other Laetacaras don't know all there common names sorry about that I'm trying to get Laetacara dorsinger it's like curviceps but its belly gets redish and there smaller Sincerely CurtisRudy_627 said:well i dont plan on breeding them
