Hi. There are several small cichlids I wanna get like Keyholes, Nan's, Cutteri's, Blue Rams, Bolivian Rams, Apistogramma viejita, Apistogramma borellii. I'll soon have 2x 20H aquariums to use for these guys also later I'll have 2x 40B aquariums to use as well. What combination do you think would work. I know not to mix related species but other combo's that may work.

Tanks mate would be fish like endlers, tetra's (similiar in size to cardinals or slightly larger), or platty's. Also a BN pleco and possibly some top swimmers like hatchets or ummm hatchets lol. Can't think of other top dwellers right now.

Keep in mind that all my aquariums are over filtered by at least double also I do at least 3 WC's a month which average to being about 85-95%. So slightly overstocking for me would be managed just fine. Oh and with the livebearers there gonna be used as feeders once they breed so no worries on being over run with them.

With the 20g H I'd limit it to one species, and prob stick with the smaller species like rams or apistos. There is not much footprint to work with. The 40Bs you can do more with so I'd save those for the larger small cichlids like the keyholes, cutteri, and nanos.

I agree with lab_rat, stick to one species, and either the rams or apistos. IMO keyholes like more room than a 20g H. The others i cannot help you with because i have never had personal experience with them.

I also agree with Lab.

Oh so all of them in a 20H??? LOL. Alright thats what I was thinking you guys would say but wasn't sure. Was Hoping to be able to get away with maybe two pairs in a 40B even if it meant using a divider. These aquariums dont take up to much of my floor space in my room and are not to expensive.

I dont got room. Well I wont when I start getting the 75's for my various Parachromis cichlids. I may end up with a second 135 gallon tank which I have no idea what I'm gonna do with since if I get stuck with it Ill be extremely limited on space.

Would aquariums fail if setup outside? I could always just put them outside my room when I put cement where my garden/gopher city is at.
