Yeah, I'm lazy enough to live with substrate I don't like for years, but I've owned some pretty ugly unhandy tanks in my life. I have found myself adjusting substrate depth over my OERFUG's a couple of times. I had no plan to plant in the substrate when I set up the big tank, so I left it pretty thin, it now has crypts and I have moved my anubias down as well. the guppy tanks, I started and cycled one with media borrowed from the big tank and then when it was complete I set the second one up and siphoned out half of the substrate from the first. 2 days later it would prcess 5ppm ammonia to nitrAte in about 10 hours. This of course has me looking forward to the next show tank (September) and the angelfish and rams.
