completely new to these please help

sounds like they are definately the fish for me then. im so excited. i guessed they may like to dig, but ive had sand in my tanks before and it drove me mad so they will be on black gravel so i can vac it properly.

i will stick with the 3 species at first i think, and see how it looks.

my goldie went peacefully at least she had a good last few months in a big tank with room to swim and a good diet. RIP :goldfish:

can anyone tell me if i could have any aulonocara orange blotch in this tank? i really like them and theres some for sale near to where i live. thanks.

:dance2: fantastic, i will get hold of the guy selling them and see if he still has any. would they also need to be in a 1-4 ratio? what would happen if i only got a single male of something? im guessing he would be an unhappy chappie

Agreed let me know when you dabble in some Shellies that is my expertise'..

sorry to drag up an old post, but after months of trying to figure exactly what to house in this tank im back to this option. right now its a community tank, with all different small community fish, but im not happy with it, to the point of considering selling the whole lot, fish, tank, everything. i need to convince my husband that i want to change it though, i swear hes sick to death of me and my tanks. im going through a rough patch with other stuff in life and am feeling very low, im thinking a change and something to focus on will do me good. i dont know. i just know im really not happy with the tank as is.

so yes, i need to convince him, then try to track down enough rock to make a decent and tall rock pile. i will be using silicone to make say 3-4 tall piles, which will be nice and stable but still allow me to get them all into the tank and move them easily for cleaning. i need to find new homes for my fish first though, but dont want to lose my cycle. maybe i could put a couple of my goldfish in there to keep the cycle going while the change is in process.

hmmm, am actually a bit nervous asking my other half if he minds me changing it around....again :uhoh: i always seem to be changing one tank or another!
