Compressicep laid eggs, anything I need to do?

Wow, that sucks you've never had them survive. I have 2 ink fin calvus as well.
I guess I waited to long for the second compressiceps fry. She was gaurding them last night when I went to bed and I could see them but this morning she was no where to be found. I pulled the whole piece of lace rock out since they were in a cave on the rock and they are all gone! That sucks. At least I still have over 40 from the other one just a few days ago in the fry net. And I guess I know not to wait so long next time.
I'm pretty puzzled why yours would not survive. I noticed some neolamprouglus leipui (spelled wrong I know) fry swimming in my tank in January. I netted 11 of them and they are all 11 still living and about 2 inches long or better. And my blue ahlis have fry like rabbits, every time I turn around shes holding, I have lost a few of those but not many at all, maybe like 3 out of 80.
I feed my fry new life spectrum sinking pellets but I crush them into powder. I do that for a week or 2 then I don't crush is so fine. But when they are less than a week old I feed them powder, just a very small amount, it kinda seems like they don't know what to do with it at first. lol.
I have my 40+ Compressicep fry in a breeder net in the main tank. Then I have a 20 gallon with 11 leipei and 5 blue ahlis, they are fairly small yet and I have a 70 gallon tank filter on it but I think they are about out grown that tank. I'm actually going to check with a LFS today to see if they want any. I plan on throwing 2 leipei back in the main tank. Then I have 5 gallon tank with like 70ish blue ahli fry, they are really small yet, like a month and 2 months old, but they are probably getting crowded as well. Thats why I need to clear the 20 gallon out a bit.

I pulled out 80+ from my calvus last night. This is the third or fourth time I've tried to save some. I've never been successful. Here's what I've tried - first time I tried crushed NLS pellets. I had one survive for several week however my eels tipped his breeder net and either he went into a fluval or he went into a mouth. Next I tried crushed brine shrimp flakes but had no luck. The third time I tried crushed omega one flakes and cyclopeze. I thought this would fail as the flakes are not very crushable but thought it was worth a try. I am now trying hard boiled egg yolk. A buddy of mine was over to see how I built my reef and I was telling him how I am having trouble with these calvus fry. He said when he was raising bettas he used hardboiled egg yolk. I had never heard of that before but have done searches on it and found other people do use this method. Just a thought in case you don't have microworms on hand.

Well I feel your pain. I netted like 42 of them and I'd say about 18 have died so far. I'm at a loss. I've had a 100% survival rate with my lelipei (spelled wrong) and probably 99% survival rate with my blue ahlis. I don't get it. And it really sucks since I was more excited about these than any of the others and plus I wanted to long to net them from the one fish and I guess they were eaten! So I had 42 and could have easily had double and now I'm down to like 24! sucks!

I was feeding hard boiled egg for the first week or so and have switched to a powder fry formula over the last few days. The fry seem to have grown quickly on the egg and were aggressive feeders. I plan on hard boiling an egg today just to supplement their powder fry food. I can't remember the name of it, but HBH makes it. They seem to feed well on it also. Yesterday I used a syringe to clean their little fry holder and did a count - out of the 80+ I have 75 left, a very good survival rate if you ask me.
