From what I have heard of conditioning fish is that you feed them different foods? Is that true? Also can I condition both in the same tank and what different types fo food should I feed the blue gouramis so they are ready.

Conditioning for breeding, I presume?

The type of food will vary with the species. Generally, you'll want to feed high protien foods, with live foods being best. With gouramies, you'll want to be careful as a rich diet fed overly long can cause other problems. Live blood worms are good, but make sure to still provide plenty of fresh greens as well.

You can condition them in the same tank. You'll want to be sure that the male doesn't become too aggressive, since they can injure a female if she is not ready at the same time. Some people use a divider--this keeps both fish interested since they can see each other but keeps her safe until she's ready. The male will need to have a good bubble nest prepared, as well.
