Conflicting info on dwarf puffer care, experienced help?

Good luck with the puffers. Just to make a suggestion, have you considered SAPs (South American puffers) ? They are also strictly freshwater, are about the same size, maybe a little bigger, and are known as the "friendly" puffer. I currently have 7 of them in my 46 gal community tank, and they are pretty cool. And they look similar to dwarfs. Again, good luck.

Thanks! I will look into those too. I just figured the dwarf would be the best in a small tank, but if the SAP's dont get much bigger than the dwarves, they're worth looking into.

SAPs get bigger then Dwarfs. Think they are in the 2-3 inch range.

They are neat puffers, but they do have an issue. Their teeth grow faster then other puffers in their size range. Odds are if you get them you'd have to do dentistry work. Snails slow it down but not completely. It isn't extremely difficult but it is something to keep in mind when considering them.
