I used to spend lots of time in a 5000 gal with two Blacktips. The first time I had a cut on my hand and let a bit of blood drip into the tank. No reaction. Cut a fish and let a drop of juice hit the water and it was off to the races!
Oh my I love cylinder tanks @.@ very feng shui XD but I do love the continuous flow of life in them or any roundish tanks. Great pictures you maintain(ed) them for casino's or something? Just took a better look and saw that was actually a LFS somewhere XD unless the casino is full of display tanks and supplies that would be an awesome casino btw! XD never seen a LFS with such a display as nice as that ; ;

It's a display at an lfs I managed. I'll have to dig around and see what I can find in the way of more livestock pics.

That's a pretty standard display for the Big Al's chain, which is what the store opened up as. It's a bit unique in that it's only two sections of acrylic instead of four, but otherwise they're the same. There was another Big Al's in Tamarack FL that dropped the franchise as well. I'm not sure if the place is still there or not.

See I wish I lived in a more coastal state seems that's where all the really nice LFS are and generally have more selections. I have a 2 piece cylinder design around 55gal at 30" x 18 using 2 48" x 18" x 3/8 - 1/2" cell cast acrylic I am working on for Iwagumi style tank I think it would be quite the visual a 360° view of an Iwagumi like having a small piece of Ireland.

Unfortunately - it's all to often stated that the minimum tank size for sharks and rays is a 180 gallon tank. But this is TOTALLY False. only smaller cool water species of catshark can be kept in a standard 180 for life. Most of the sharks that are available for home aquaria require a tank which is much larger. As most species reach at least 30-36" in length.

Also the standard rectangular aquarium really isn't suited for sharks or rays. The best designed tanks for sharks or rays is either round or oval - at these lack the sharp corners, which can be difficult for sharks to get out of.

Also there are several private aquarists who use plastic/polyethylene ponds. Although they may not offer a side view of the shark or ray. They do ofter a great top down view - and are generally ideally suited for keeping small sharks in.

The only shark I could remotely recommend as a permanent resident for a 180 gallon would be Orectolobus wardi. They are even more sedentary than the relatively relaxed cat, bamboo, and epaulette sharks and have a maximum recorded size of 24". Most only seem to reach about 18", though, from what I've seen/read. The downside is that they aren't terribly easy to find...

Hi
Have you checked out "Aquatic eco systems" They sell fiberglass tanks in many sizes with and without windows .
haven't done the math but suspect the cost would be close to a DIY You can also get both built in and add on filtration systems . gary
