That refers to the color temp of the light, not the light output (lumens) or the power consumption (watts). The K does not stand four thousand, its stands for Kelvins. 6700K is a standard color temp for growing fw plants. 10,000K is much more white, often used in SW tanks, although people use them for fw as well.
 
Actually in the first link, they are using k as an abbreviation for thousand...I can see why its confusing. If they are going to use it that way, it should say "10k K" or "10k Kelvin" or "10,000K" (most common).
 
Exactly... wasn't referring to watts/lumens but instead that 10k should really be listed as 10,000k...
