yes, i did it twice. same thing - the strip is yellow --nitrates are 0. it is not closer to orange-yellow indicating more nitrates. I am using master kit and i have this tank for a year. it was cycled without fish last november. It usualy has nitrates ~5. maybe it was less because i measured it after water changes...
