Consolidating two tanks?

I am currently undergoing a major remodeling of my home to include the flooring. I have two 55g tanks. I would like to consolidate the tanks by upgrading to a larger tank(??size) that could hold all inhabitants. One tank is planted with CO2 injection and the works while the other one is a common community tank. This difference is an obvious problem. In addition the nonplanted community tanks houses 3 clown loaches and a common pl@co.

I honestly think consolidating the tanks will not work! Take a look at my specs for more information on the tanks. Any suggestions and/or criticism is appreciated.

Well, I'm sure you could do it if the new tank were large enough, but I'm thinking that it would be an enormous tank. You would likely want the same amount of square footage on the floor of the tank, not just the same displacement, and we're getting into monster tanks here...

I have a 180g, with an eclectic mix similar to yours. (see below) Everyone does fine, but size does matter! lol Rufus, the pleco has no interest at all in plants, but I keep him well fed with fresh veggies every other day and algae wafers every day. You do need to give your pleco floor space. My tank is 72x24x24. I plant my background plants forward, about 4-5" from the back of the tank. I did this AFTER planting traditionally against the back wall, and Rufus uprooted all the plants 4 nights in a row. Now he doesn't bother them. I also have 7 clowns. I can be done, if you have the space, and the money

The only compatibility issues I see is with the Angels and some of the tetras. I think you could definitely pull it off with a tank that was was large enough.
