continuous gravel vac

In my case, I wanted an extra I could clean out and use on different tanks in different rooms. No need to add a separate one for each tank that way.

You can get a H.O.T. magnum and add on the suction tube yourself. That's what I did and I'm also using the micron filter to polish the water at the same time.

Yes, I have the HOT pro on my tank in the bedroom. Don't want to unhook the biowheels/outflow nozzle to do that. Plus, that one unit does nothing for tanks elsewhere. So I got another one (deluxe) to use as a floater. It's cheaper than buying that continuous gravel washer system (at $250+ with the add-ons) the OP posted this question on. Even at full price the Magnum 350 costs half as much. And it's easier than trying to make one myself out of some other filter or a powerhead.

I should have explained better, my HOT set-up is a floater. OOPS!!

Cost me about a $1.00 (for the barb)...I already had the HOT laying around. Add an old gravel vac tube and...Frankenstein!

Yes, water changes are still needed....this just allows one to vac for longer periods of time without running out of water in the tank...Or wasting water if you have to keep your python attached to a running faucet.
