Controlling snails

As mentioned, you can make a snail "trap". Add the lettuce or some other vegetable to a small bottle and place it on it's side on the bottom of the tank overnight. In the morning, a large amount of snails will be in the bottle. Remove it, get rid of the snails, and continue to do this.

my 2 cents; I've added a green pea puffer, it can't handle the adults but will prevent any increase in population, this as mentioned above, is only if it's appropriate for the other inhabitants, GPP tend to be fin nippers, I had minor fin damage on corys but plecos, apistos, cardinals, rasboras, ottos, SAE's were left alone . . . yet another opinion/option.

clown loaches grow extremely slow once they hit the 5" mark. it will take YEARS for them to get to full size. thats why they are nearly triple the price if you can find any that are over 4-5".
