do you think i could breed convicts in a 15 gallon intill they reach 4 or 5 inches, my lfs need convicts like crazy and can never order them or keep them on the shelf and they dont have a breeder, and they would pay me 5 dollors a fish if i breed them but all i have ia a 15 and a 10 gallon

Good grief Charlie Brown! Where do you live that you get $5 per convict? I can't even give the little guys away.

Like the others have said, I wouldn't breed them in anything smaller than a 20 gallon.

If you can really sell them for $5 a piece, having them in a 15 for a little while won't hurt.Just keep the water clean.Over filtrate, and I would do water changes at least twice a week.Grow a few of the fry out in your 10,and in a couple months you will have more than enough money for a bigger tank.
Where are you going to get the fish to breed?

i live in yuma michigan, i proly could get a 20l some where cheep, if that would be better. and use the 15 as a grow out, idk why eveyone around here just love convicts but it doesnt seem that they breed

I bred convicts in 10's for 4 years. So yes it is possible. You just gotta keep up on those good ol' Water Changes. Also, IMHO, I'd use a larger tank as a growout. It just makes alot more sense to grow them out in a bigger tank. The babies WILL grow faster.
