convict compatibility

I'm thinking about starting a new tank with a pair of convicts, most likely a 30 gallon. Is there anything I could put in the tank with them, or would it have to be just the two of them, if there is something, what would you recommend? preferably something a little colorful if possible

If you had a pair, then any other fish in there would be in trouble.

So to play it safe, I would just get a pair and give them the 30 gallon to themselves.
