My 2 4" cons were hangng around a very small (1.25" diameter) ceramic log for about a month. each feeding the female (when the male wasn't looking) would sneak out for food and I would lift the cave for inspection. tonight my figer landed on a slimey dark brown egg!!! there were only about ten at most due to the limited space. In between breedings I think I'll replace it with a larger floor potat that color about how long will it take for them to hatch? Yeah I know my web name is fish breeder but honestly this is my first sucessful spawn. I got paradise to build a bubble nest but the female died before she could lay eggs, I got auratus to do a mating dance but on the same night, my electric cat ate the female, and I,ve sucessfully raised a few baches of livebearer fry (that were given to me). I do research breeding methods extensively for all types but the budjuet doesn't fit it. I'll keep you updated on the pair aqnd fry to be though

well it takes anywhere from 3 days to over a week for them to hatch. i guess it depends on many many variables. good luck.

keep on posting my convicts mite be laying eggs soon! good luck!

It should take about 2 days for the eggs to hatch. The fry will remain wigglers for about a week before they become free swimming. The female will probably move them around alot during that time. When they start to move around feed them with baby brine shrimp and cyclops-ezz (just squirt the thawed food at the babies with a turkey baster. you might want to turn off the filter for a few minutes when you feed them. do this 2-3 time a day) What else is in the tank? Once they start moving around they are irrisistable targets to other fish in the tank. Good Luck

they arent't there anymore :mad2: ether they hatched or were eten
