convict problems

ok the boy convict was beating up on the girl convict and hurt her quite bad and there were eggs so i took her out and took the eggs out and put her and the eggs together will she know those are her eggs or will she just eat them.
any idea what could cause aggression between them. they have bred before and have had no problem but now they want to kill each other

im no expert but ive had this problem in the past and searched hard for an answer and belive it or not the only thing i found was that the female may not have wanted to spawn again right away. but like i said im no expert.

I had this problem once before myself and ended up removing the female and keeping the eggs with the male. The only thing that I could ncome up with was a) mamma realized she had a taste for caviar or b) the males temperment changed as he matured and got possessive of "his" eggs. He would have killed the female if she hadn't been removed. He was a great dad and she ended up fitting into my 75g community quite nicely.Didn't spawn themafter that since I didn't have a need for any more little ones.
