Convict tank mates

I'll disagree with you stoneage on 20 gallon (long) being too small for a pair of convicts. Granted, it would be better to have a bigger tank, but lots of folks breed convicts and keep pairs in 20 gallon tanks. A 6" fish is 1/2 the width of a 20 gallon tank which is a fairly reasonable ratio - especially since the length is 5 times the fish's size.

I will agree with Jayhawk.
I have a 20g with a breeding pair about 2 1/2" long. They have bred 3 times in this tank and show no ill signs whatsoever. Even with the fry reaching 1inch before I remove them, everyone seems very happy. To this day I have never had a floater fry. I usually end up with around 30 making it to free swimming age.
