I am just getting back into aquariums and have a 29 gallon tank with 2 clown loaches, 4 tetras, and 2 mollys. Is the tank big enough for 2 Convicts to breed and live with other fish

It is big enough for a pair of them to have fun murdering all the other fish as a form of bizarre convict foreplay

They are terrible horrible little buggers. . . but I love them too! Mine are one cute little couple and they do breed like rabbits (or maybe rabbits breed like Convict Cichlids!).

I have a 75 gallon with a 5 inch Jack Dempsey and a 5 inch Firemouth and I am afraid to put my breeding pair of 2 inch convicts in there because I fear for the safety of my big fish. . .

no, convicts like other c/a cichlids will claim a territory. as the baby grow so will the territory. anything that gets close to the area will get chased away rather viciously. first to go would probably be the tetras then the mollys.
