I have a mated pair of convicts, with a bunch of the babies in the tank, its a 30 gallon, soon I am going to bring the babies to a pet shop, or upgrade to a 55 gallon tank for them. but latily the parents have been fighting. there is a pleco in there and a red finned botia dude. there are about 5 cave things for them to check out. before they would fight once in a while, when one would nipe at a babie, but now its all the time.

well they are convicts. with that said, who is starting the fight? sometimes male convicts will kill the female. is the fighting serious? if so seperate them. just becuase they mated doesnt mean they're in "love" otherwise, if its not serious let convicts be convicts. a 30 gal is plenty space for one breeding pair of convicts so i doubt its because of that. but yeah if the fighting gets serious and you see one fish winning you need to sperate them otherwise just have plenty of cover and keep an eye on them. not much else you can do, you could also put up a divider for awhile. hope that helps.

well they are not doing it right now, so ill just let them be. the female is bigger then the male. looked like she was gona "win" any major fight. if it gets any worse or they look injured ill seperate them
