Can a pair of convicts live in a 20g long by themselves?

sure, but when they have 100 lil convict fry swimmin around you have a problem

Yes, but just make sure you provide them with plenty of cover so they can hide from each other when necessary.

Put in a couple of small to medium ceramic planting pots for flowers, as the pots make great caves for them. No don't put flowers in the tank lol

A mated pair of convicts in a 20 gallon would be fine, I have a mated pair in a 10 gallon and they are wonderful. They breed regularly and I move their when large enough to another 10 gallon to grow as feeders for my red devil and oscars.

They would do very well. Just make sure you don't plan on putting anything else in there. They get very violent when they breed, tore skin on me once.

Depends on their temparment keep an eye out for aggression if the male decides to harass the female too much.

a 10 gallon is way too small for cons.

umm a full grown convict could not fit in a 20 long if a fire mouth cant, i would say a 30 or a 29 would be the best for a small tank for 2 cons
