no, once its frozen its not too bad. i mean, dont put your face in the bag or anything, but its nothing compared to when you are cooking the stuff. it doesnt seem to make the tanks smell at all and im not kidding when i say the fish love it. my clowns are still new (ive had them for just a couple of weeks now) and they click like mad for it. i cant wait to put them in the acrylic tank so i can stop feeling nervous and checking for cracks! my cories dive bombed the rams to get to the stuff last night in my community tank. it also seems to have pushed my peppered cories over the top and into breeding condition; i saw a few eggs on the glass when i was getting ready to turn out the lights
fyi, try 4 sachets of gelatin or more with the quantities i used. the stuff ive got seems a bit crumbly in places
